Strong and Bold

Day 30Be strong and bold; have no fear or dread of them, because it is the Lord your God who goes with you; he will not fail you or forsake you.’

—Deuteronomy 31:6

Question- How will I express my boldness in the Lord today?

Prayer- LORD, let me discover the boldness that you have planted in me. Make my heart and mind aware that you are the source of my strength and courage. Let me behave with the confidence that flows from that knowledge. Amen.

Lord My Rock

day29Blessed be the Lord my rock!

who trains my hands to fight and my fingers to battle

My help and my fortress,

my stronghold and my deliverer,

my shield in whom I trust.

O Lord, what are we that you should care for us?

mere mortals that you should think of us?

We are like a puff of wind.

our days are like a passing shadow.

—-Psalm 144

Question- What are some ways that I can trust you today?

Prayer-

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.

Where there is hatred, let me bring love.

Where there is offense, let me bring pardon.

Where there is discord, let me bring union.

Where there is error, let me bring truth.

Where there is doubt, let me bring faith.

Where there is despair, let me bring hope.

Where there is darkness, let me bring your light.

Where there is sadness, let me bring joy.

O Master, let me not seek as much

to be consoled as to console,

to be understood as to understand,

to be loved as to love,

for it is in giving that one receives,

it is in self-forgetting that one finds,

it is in pardoning that one is pardoned,

it is in dying that one is raised to eternal life.

Who Is it?

Day 28  March 28

After this he said to him, ‘Follow me.’

Peter turned and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them; he was the one who had reclined next to Jesus at the supper and had said, ‘Lord, who is it that is going to betray you?’

—John 21:19-20

Question- Have I always been faithful to Jesus?

Prayer- Lord, in difficult times it is easy to turn our backs on you. Please spare me of such times, but when they come, prepare me to stand with you. Let me be faithful. Amen

No Other

Day 27You are my witnesses, says the Lord,

and my servant whom I have chosen,

so that you may know and believe me

and understand that I am he.

Before me no god was formed,

nor shall there be any after me.

I, I am the Lord,

and besides me there is no savior.

—–Isaiah 43:10-11

Question- How can I be a witness to the Lord today?

PrayerLORD, you have chosen us as your witnesses today. Help us to rise to the occasion as we walk through life. Give us the courage and the wise words to share your grace to those that you send our way. Amen

—-Isaiah 35:7

Prayer- LORD, you can change any situation. Help me to see the things in my life that need to be transformed, and make me ready for the totality of transformation that comes when you are truly involved. Amen

Elusive Purity

Day 25The plans of the mind belong to mortals,

but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord.

All one’s ways may be pure in one’s own eyes,

but the Lord weighs the spirit.

Commit your work to the Lord,

and your plans will be established.

—–Proverbs 16:1-3

Question– Do I use the wisdom that God offers?

Prayer- Lord, I acknowledge that a special purity comes you and that I am merely a vessel that carries what you have given. Let me have the understanding to be able to put your spirit to work in me. In doing so, I can achieve the purity of heart that so eludes me. Amen

Call Upon the Lord

Day 24I call upon you, O LORD; come quickly to me;

give ear to my voice when I call to you.

Let my prayer be counted as incense before you,

and the lifting up of my hands as an evening sacrifice

—-Psalm 141:1-2

Question- Do I call upon the Lord and believe he will come?

Prayer- Lord, I call upon you this day with the faith that you will carry me through. I acknowledge you as my strength I times of trouble, my shield in times of danger and my deliverer in times of panic. Please be me this day and be my friend. Amen

From the Beginning

Day 22In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being.

—John 1:1-3

Question- Do I trust that God has always been with me?

Prayer- LORD, your scripture says that your love for me has always been in your plans. Let that assurance lead me to live a life that honors you. Amen

The Voice

Day 21Saul said to Samuel, ‘I have sinned; for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice. Now therefore, I pray, pardon my sin, and return with me, so that I may worship the Lord.’

—1 Samuel 15:24-25

Question- What voice are you following today?

Prayer- LORD, I seek your forgiveness for the many times I have ignored you. I implore you to speak loudly to me so that I may hear you above the voices of the world. Attune my ears to your words so that I may follow your path to the glorious life you have in mind for me. Amen
